The flag football team ended undefeated, but lost in the second round of the playoffs. Flag football starts at the start of the school year and goes to the end or middle of October. Flag football is a nine on nine game with four ten minute quarters. The Flag football team had some unforgettable memories like Kyle punching a kid, going undefeated in the regular season, and getting coach Ray his first playoff game in a long time. I asked some of the players to share some more memorable moments that they made this season on the gridiron.
First I interviewed Charlie Riddell, he was a wide receiver, Tight end, and outside linebacker. Second I interviewed Luke Wyatt, he was a wide receiver and a cornerback. Lastly I interviewed Dominic Grandinetti, he was a Nosegard and on the Defensive line.
When asked, “What was the highlight of this season?” Charlie said “My favorite highlight this season was his one handed catch in the second round of playoffs.” Luke said “My favorite highlight was forcing lots and lots of stops and incompletions.” Dominic said “My favorite highlight was when he got lots of sacs in the first round of playoffs against Mary Hill.”
The team had a key free agent pick up during the season. As 8th grader James McCormac hit the transfer portal and joined the Bears. He joined the rest of our veteran 8th graders as they were rolling till a matchup with Presentation in the playoffs.
Despite an early playoff exit, everybody made memories that they will cherish. As well as not only gaining new teammates, but friends as well.
