Have you been to New York or Boston before? Well, Most of our 8th-grade class had the opportunity to visit these historic US Cities in September. I interviewed a couple of 8th graders to see how this trip went.
The first question I asked was what was one of your favorite memories from this trip? How is this memory different from those you have made on other trips? Madison Linker said, “Some of my favorite memories were laughing with friends. It was different from other trips because I’ve never gone on a trip like that with my friends.” Samantha Messiha also had a different opinion saying, “My favorite memory from this trip is definitely just being with the whole class. This is different from any other trip I went on because I’ve never been on a plane , I’ve never been on a trip this long with the class, and with it being different it was also very fun!’ Lastly, for this question, Audri Gordon had similar opinions saying, “One of my favorite memories from the trip is bonding with the class and viewing beautiful sites that were an important part of our history. These memories are different from others because I feel that I would never forget this trip especially because it is a right of passage to go in 8th grade.” With these opinions, it’s easy to see that they all had fun with their classmates and will remember it forever.
My second question about this trip was what was something in New York that was normal for them but different for us? For this question, Madison said, ” Something normal for New York was how many people would walk. Whenever we walk somewhere there are always so many people walking around.” Walking seems to be a popular form of transportation. Audri would agree with this statement, “Something in New York that was normal for them but different for us was you can really just walk everywhere and not even need a car unless you are going extremely far. I feel that I like it better because many places in New York are so close together.” When asked this question Samantha talked about the energy of the city, “Something in New York that is different is how the city never sleeps and how crowded the streets are even when it’s very late.” Well, it must be true when they say that the city never sleeps.
For my third question, I asked how this trip was different from all the other trips you have been on. Madison said, “This trip is different from other ones because whenever I’ve gone on school trips they have always been in the wilderness and not the city.” Samantha said, “The trip is very different from any of the other trips I’ve been on because I’ve never been on a trip this long with my class before and also I personally never been to the East Coast so it was fun to see it and go on all the museums and tours.” Audri answered to this question saying, “ this trip was different from others because not only was it a fun adventure to go but I learned much about the history within it.”
It seems like the 8th grade had a trip full of learning experiences, good memories, and lots of walking.
