The College football playoffs are coming to an end and I asked Paddy Fuller, James McCormack and Sam Swanston about the College Football Playoffs. I asked them all a series of questions before the playoffs started.

The first question was “The Oregon Ducks currently have the best record, how do you think their playoff run will go?” Paddy Fuller answered, “Oregon has had a lot of upsets this year, but they aren’t a good enough team to play in the playoffs, so they will lose the second round against Tennessee.” Sam and James both think Oregon will lose to Ohio State in the second round of the playoffs by a touchdown. I agree with Sam and James but I think Oregon will lose to a game-winning field goal instead of a touchdown.

The next question I asked was, “Ashton Jeanty is the best rusher in college football, how do you think he will do in the playoffs?” Paddy and James think he will not do great because he is in the Mountain West conference, and was against teams with not a lot of talent, now that he is in the playoffs, he will be going against much harder teams. Sam Swanston said, “He will do very well in the playoffs because he is a great rusher and can run through anyone no matter how big they are.” I can’t agree with Sam because I don’t think Ashton Jeanty is as good as everyone says he is, but I knew that Ashton Jeanty wasn’t going to do badly, but he also wasn’t going to do well either. He ended up having 0 touchdowns, 104 yards for 30 attempts, and 2 fumbles against Penn State.

“Out of the four teams that have a bye week for the first week of playoffs, which team do you think will go the furthest?” Paddy, Sam, and James all said Georgia would go the furthest because they have the best playoff experience and they have the best coach.

Because of the new CFP format, some teams were given an easier road than others.“Which team do you think has the hardest schedule for their playoff run?” Paddy and Sam both said Tennessee because they have to play Ohio State in the first round and if they win that game, they will have to go against Oregon. James thinks Oregon has the hardest schedule because they have to play Tennessee or Ohio State which are both top teams this season. I agree with Paddy and Sam because Oregon and Ohio State are the two best teams in college football.

A champion does need to be crowned at the end of this though. “Which team do you think will win the college football playoffs?” Both James and Paddy think Ohio State will win the National Championship because they have the most talent. Sam thinks Texas will win the National Championship because they have two very talented quarterbacks and a great defense.

This new era of the CFP should be exciting no matter what the outcome is!
