One of the most universally known things associated with Valentine’s Day is candy. Well at least it is for me. Candy is an exciting and fun part about Valentine’s Day, and usually everyone has a preference. I interviewed Katie Topp, Mackenzie Shiltz, and Sadie Reid to hear about their opinions on Valentine’s Day candy. Do you like receiving candy on Valentine’s Day?
The first person I interviewed was Katie Topp, and I asked her to share what her favorite Valentine’s candy is. She responded with, “ I really love the Ghirardelli chocolates.” The next participant I asked was Mackenzie Shiltz and she said, “ I’d have to say the Toblerone chocolates or the Haribo gummy bears.” The last person I asked was Sadie Reid and she replied with, “ My favorite Valentine’s candy is probably Hershey’s chocolate.” I might say from my collected information I think that chocolate is a crowd pleaser. There are many chocolates that are available during the Valentines season.
I further asked, “ Do you enjoy receiving candy on Valentine’s Day?” Katie responded with, “Yes, I do and it makes me feel loved and happy.” I then asked Mackenzie and she said, “Yes, because I can feel like a little kid again.” I asked Sadie the same question and replied with, “I do enjoy it, because it means someone who cares gave it to me.” I couldn’t think of any better way to answer this question. Not only is receiving candy exciting and fun, but it is also wholesome and shows a great deal of kindness.
Although a lot of people like candy, I think the vote for chocolate or regular candy is pretty divided. I asked the participants, “ Do you prefer chocolate or regular candy?” Katie further said, “I prefer chocolate and I am a big chocolate fan.” I asked Mackenzie next and she said, “I prefer regular candy, but specifically sour gummy things.” I next asked Sadie and she said, “ I would say I prefer chocolate because I love chocolate.” Due to the group I interviewed, I think chocolate wins the overall vote. Although both types of candy are equally amazing and delicious.
The next question I asked was, “Which candy do you think is most associated with Valentine’s Day?” Katie replied with, “ I think the heart shaped Brach’s are a main Valentine’s Day candy.” Mackenzie said, “ I think the candy hearts are a huge part of Valentine’s Day because they spread love just like Valentine’s Day.” I then asked Sadie, and she responded with, “I think candy hearts because they get passed out every year.” It is safe to say that the candy hearts are a staple Valentine’s Day candy that definitely represents the holiday.
Lastly I asked, “If you were a box of Valentine’s chocolates, what would you have in your box? Katie Topp answered with, “ I would have white chocolate in my box.” Mackenzie Shiltz said, “I would have the See’s Candies’ Scotchmallows in my box.” Finally Sadie replied, “ I would have See’s Candies’ in my box.” I See’s that See’s Candy is a popular pick. These choices are all great and delectable picks for a Valentine’s box.
Valentine’s Day is a day full of love and spreading happiness. And what spreads happiness like candy. It is safe to say that candy also shapes Valentine’s Day and makes it extra fun. Overall candy continues to reign supreme.
