Owen Nick and Andrew are in the Academic Decathlon after school each of them picked a subject to focus on. Andrew did science, Owen did current events, and Nick did science. They all have different things to study, but they work together as a team. They must study a lot and prepare for the tournament, where they will compete against other teams. Even though they all want to do their best they have different opinions on how the tournament will go. When they were asked about how they think the tournament will go, they all had different answers. Owen said it will not go that well, so he is not feeling very confident. Andrew said it will be horrible, which means he does not think they will do good at all. But Nick had a different answer. He said the tournament will go very well. He is confident that they will do great and that their team will be successful. Even though they do not all agree, they will still try their best in the competition.

Even though the tournament might be hard, all three of them have things they like about academic decathlon. Andrew’s favorite part is hanging out with Owen and Nick. He likes being with his friends and spending time together while they study and compete. Owens’s favorite part is extra studying. He likes having more time to learn and get better at different subjects. Nick likes learning interesting facts, he enjoys finding out new things that he did not know before, and he thinks it is fun to learn about different topics even though they all like different things about Academic Decathlon they all enjoy being part of the team and working together. 

They also each had a different reason for joining the academic decathlon. Andrew joined because he had fun last year. Since he liked it before, he wanted to do it again. Owen Joined because his parents told him to. He did not choose it himself, but he still tries to do his best because he is part of the team. Nick joined because He wanted to learn more stuff. He likes gaining knowledge, so he thought academic decathlon would be a great way to challenge himself and get smarter. Even though they had different reasons for joining, they are all a part of the same team now, and they are working hard to prepare for the tournament. 

Even though they all work hard there are things they want to improve. Andrew wants to focus more on his work. Sometimes he might get distracted, so he wants to do better at paying attention and staying on task. Owen wants to get better at an organization. He thinks if he can stay more organized, he will do better in the competition and be able to study more effectively. Nick wants to study more even though he already learned a lot, he knows that studying more can help him improve and be even better in the tournament. Even though Nick and Andrew have different ideas about how the tournament will go, they are still a team. they each have things they enjoy and things they want to work on. no matter what happens at the tournament, they will do their best, keep learning, and have fun.
