The 7th grade class had the wonderful pleasure of getting to take a class field trip to Westminster Woods recently. The trip was filled with fun activities and new opportunities. Everybody was able to bond with each other and learn more about each other. Because of this trip our class has become much closer than we were before. The people I chose to interview about this amazing trip were Sophia, Allie, and Andrew.

The first question is based on what they thought about the trip.

The question was “What was your favorite part of the trip?”

Sophia: “My favorite part of the trip was being able to go out of my comfort zone and being able to bond with classmates.”

Allie: “My favorite part of the trip was the bonding experience with the bandanas.”

Andrew: “My favorite part of the trip was probably the polar bear plunge or the cargo net.”

All these responses are great answers and they all highlight the trip very well.

The second question was “Can you describe the area?”

Sophia: “The area is full of trees, wild life, and beautiful streams. It’s very lushious and serene.”

Allie: “There were redwoods. It was pretty. The air smelled nice.”

Andrew: “The area was very cool and cold. It was very packed with trees in certain areas and some trails were steep.”

As these three people explained, the area was beyond beautiful and a wonderful place to experience with friends.

The third question is “What were some challenges you faced?”

Sophia: “Challenges I faced were going out of my comfort zone such as when I walked outside at night not knowing what was around me.”

Allie: “Some challenges I faced were all the hiking and being away from my family.”

Andrew: “Some challenges I faced were cold weather and not being able to see and just trusting the person in front of me.”

Although everybody went out of their comfort zone and faced different challenges in some way, these challenges have helped people grow more adventurous and brave in one way or another.

The fourth question is “Would you go there again? Why or why not?”

Sophia: “I would go there again 100% because we got to explore nature and do teamwork challenges.”

Allie: “I would go there again. It was super fun but I don’t think I would go there if it were just me and my family. It was more fun as a class experience.”

Andrew: “I would go there again for many reasons. One being that it was very fun and packed with cool things to do with your friends and by yourself. Also, the food was very good.”

Westminster was very enjoyable and everything was set up perfectly as to where kids and their families will most likely want to visit again.

The fifth and final question is “How has this trip changed you as a person?”

Sophia: “This trip has changed me as a person by knowing that I can try new things that are new and allowing me to try new things with people.”

Allie: “It has made me realize that sometimes people can feel left out and you don’t know it. It also made me realize how people feel about their classmates.”

Andrew: “This trip has changed me as a person by increasing teamwork and trust with other people.”

As you can see, Westminster has changed our class in many ways. It has brought out better teamwork, trust, and kindness in our class. This trip to Westminster is something I am positive will stick in the memories of every person who visits it forever.
