Fashion has always been an essential part of the spring season. The wonderful thing about fashion is that everyone has a different style and can express themselves freely. People interpret fashion in their own way according to their taste, especially in spring. To figure out what the community at Holy Spirit thinks about spring fashion, I interviewed three of my classmates that seem to know a lot about this topic. These classmates are Carter Jarrell, Cassidy Kiesling, and Sofia Marquez. 

First, I asked them what type of clothes they normally reach for when spring rolls around. Cassidy informed me that in the spring she normally wears jeans, and a short sleeve with a cardigan to layer. Layering is an important part because as the temperatures are fluctuating in the spring, you need a cardigan to be prepared for a sudden cold breeze. For more of a broader answer, Carter replied, “During the season of spring I typically reach for airy and breathable clothing.” This point is perfectly reasonable because as I said, as the temperature starts increasing you want to make sure you are comfortable and not overheating. Lastly, for this question, Sofia said that she starts to wear shorts and lighter clothing when spring begins.

Secondly, I questioned them if they think that shoes and accessories complete the look they are going for and what some of these accessories that they wear in spring when forming the perfect outfit are. These answers that I gathered were all pretty similar to each other because they all agreed that accessories always complete an outfit. Cassidy said that especially during spring, accessories are a key factor to adding more color and personality to your look. Both Carter and Sofia said jewelry is an item that can show personality. Some of these pieces of jewelry are chunky earrings, bold rings, and layered necklaces. Some places that you can buy jewelry like these are Gorjana, Kendra Scott, and Evry Jewels. If you are looking for expensive jewelry that will last a lifetime, I recommend Tiffany & Co for pieces that never go out of style. Now when it comes to shoes, they all agreed on the Birkenstock Arizonas and Adidas Sambas in soft spring colors. Birkenstock Arizonas are perfect for the transitional season of spring because they can be worn in so many versatile ways. 

Next, I wanted them to tell me what specific brands they look for when shopping for the season of spring. All three of them expressed that they love to shop at Hollister, Pacsun, Aerie, and Brandy Melville. 

Then, I asked what trends they look forward to seeing or coming back into style this upcoming season. For prints, Cassidy and Carter said that they would like to see animal prints and polka dots more often in clothing now that they are becoming more popular. Now, many prints are trending such as stripes, cheetah print, petite floral designs, and polka dots. When these prints are styled correctly, they have so much potential. Sofia said that she is excited to see more flowy tops to provide comfort in the rising temperatures in Land Park. These flowy tops include halter, tube, and off-the-shoulder. 

Lastly, I questioned them on what colors or patterns they think will spark people’s interests this year, since spring typically has many colorful palettes. For this question, they all agreed by saying that pastel colors have and will continue to remain as the season’s main colors. They said that they expect to see all shades of pink and yellow throughout spring. 

All in All, spring is greatly influenced by fashion, and the season holds many traditions while creating new trends and styles every year.
