The Holy Spirit golf team is quite a great one, at least in my opinion. But to know if you should join next year, I decided to answer questions from other people so I could get multiple perspectives. For this overview, I interviewed a total of three people: Landon Noha, Nicolas Saberin, and Owen Domingo. I chose these people for my interviews because they each held separate rankings on the golf team, with Owen being first, Landon being somewhere in the middle, and Nick being closer to the bottom (No offense Nick). I asked a total of five golf-team-related questions to these individuals so I could tell you, if you were looking to try out, if you should join the Holy Spirit Golf Team.
Golf Practice. Like most sports practices, some people love it, some don’t. For the first question, I asked, “What is your favorite kind of practice we’ve done this year? Why did you enjoy it?” Obviously, this is highly opinion-based and results varied a lot, but here we go. Landon said, “My favorite practice this year was when we went to the range and only two people came (including me) and got private lessons.” These two people were Landon and me. No, this is not a regular thing, just some crazy coincidence, but it happened. Who knows? Maybe it will happen again? Nick answered with “my favorite practice was when we did a putting and chipping competition. I enjoyed it because I got to play with my teammates and had lots of fun.” Pretty expected answer. It’s always nice to enjoy having a practice where you work with friends and have loads of fun. Finally, Owen ends off this section with a boring response. “Chipping. Because I am good at it.” Yeah. Nothing really to say here. Overall, as I said before, varied results. Still might give you an idea of what to look forward to if you’re planning on joining golf.
There are many fun golf courses to play at throughout and around Sacramento. There’s Land Park Golf Course, Bing Maloney, Haggin Oaks, and more. So, I asked, “Out of all the courses we’ve played at, which one did you enjoy the most and why?’ Landon responded, “I enjoyed the E9 course in Bing Maloney the most. It was not too hard and not too easy and is probably my skill level.” Nick had a similar idea. “I have enjoyed the Bing Maloney Executive 9 the most. I enjoyed it because it wasn’t long and tiring and I could focus without losing my energy.” Owen, yet again, had a simple reply: “Mather was a very nice course.” Wow. Overall, it seems Bing E9 takes the lead, 2 to 3.
The coaches at HSPS golf team were great! They taught us many things we needed to know about the game of golf. At least, I thought so. I decided to see what other people thought about the coaches there. And so, I asked, “What do you think you learned the most from our coaches?” Landon said, “I learned how to help my swing and to get more power when I hit.” Nick stated, “I learned that when you swing a pitch, you want to brush the grass and not hit the ground.” And now to Owen, with yet ANOTHER amazing response to my question: “To be good at golf.” In conclusion, the coaches seemed to teach all of these players different things.
Now for the big question. “Would you recommend the golf team to anyone who might be able to join next year? Why or why not?” This is where anyone who may be joining the team next year should pay attention. (Duh) Landon decided to say “I would highly recommend it because golf is super fun and you get to skip days off of school, you also get to learn new things and practice with your friends. Even if you don’t make the team, there are still times where you can practice with the team.” Nick announced that “I would recommend it because if you like golf or want to try something new, you will still get on a team. If you are new you would go on the practice squad, which means you still get to play golf.” And then Owen: “Yes, it is very fun and a good sport to know how to play.” I also agree with these individuals in saying that golf was a great experience, and if it seems to be a nice idea to join it, go ahead.
Now for the conclusion. I asked Landon, Nicolas, and Owen what they would rate their experience here at HSPS golf out of ten. Landon had the highest number, saying “I would rate it a 9.9/10 because it is really fun, but you have to hustle over to your tee times and practices.” Nicolas had the number in the middle, being a 9.5. “I would rate it a 9.9/10 because it is really fun, but you have to hustle over to your tee times and practices.” And Owen said, “9/10, I like everything, I just wish that we played more.” That means that the overall rating out of ten was about 9.4/10! A great score that goes to show how great the golf team is for the people who play it. In conclusion, if golf is a sport you enjoy even a little bit, and you have the time to do it, join the golf team for an enjoyable experience.
