Summer is the best time to go on fun vacations and spend time with your friends at the pool. Some people already know what they’re going to do this summer, but others have no idea. If you are still looking for an idea of what to do this summer, these seventh graders have the answers. I interviewed Sophia Magnan, Amelie Lancara, and Charlie Riddell to find out what their summer plans are.
The first person I interviewed was Sophia Magnan. First, I asked her what sports will you play this summer? She responded by saying, “Over the summer the sports I like to play are basketball and ballet.” The second question was if she has a summer job. She said, “ This summer I am teaching ballet at Sacramento Ballet Company and pet sitting for some of my neighbors. I also might start babysitting this summer!” The next question was what vacations will you go on? Sophia said, “ I don’t think I’m going on any vacations, but I wish I could go to Sea Ranch.” The fourth question I asked was what friends do you hang out with and what do you want to do with them? Sophia said, “I want to hang out with my friends Kaytlen, Sofiya S., Sofia M, Amelie, Halle, Allie, Milu, Eva and Lucia. I want to have sleepovers and preppy picnics with them.” Finally, my last question was if you had to choose one thing you’re excited for this summer what would it be? She said, “I’m excited for my 13th birthday and being CPR certified!” Sophia has a busy and fun filled summer ahead.
The second person I interviewed was Amelie Lancara. The first question I asked was what sports do you play over summer? Amelie said, “I’ll be swimming at Park Terrace and playing softball.” The second question I asked was do you have a summer job? She told me, “Yes, I do have a job. I work at Park Terrace as a junior swim coach.” The third question was if she’s going on any vacations. She said, “Over the summer I am going to North Carolina to see my family. I am also going to Donner Lake.” Another question was what friends will you hang out with and what do you plan to do with them. She said, “I will hang out with all my friends from school and Park Terrace. I like to go swimming and do other fun things with them.” The last question was if you had to choose one thing you’re excited for this summer what would it be? She told me, “ I’m really excited to see my family in North Carolina and for champs at PT!” Amelie’s summer sounds like so much fun and I hope she has fun on the East coast.
The final person I interviewed was Charlie Riddell. First, I asked about the sports he’s doing. He said, “The only sport I play is baseball and I made the All Stars Team!” Next, I asked him about him having a summer job. He said, “I don’t have a summer job, but I would like to be a snack shack worker at a baseball field.” The next thing I asked was about the vacations he’ll be going on. He said, “ I’m not going on any vacations this summer but I would’ve liked to go to New York.” Then, I asked about the friends he hangs out with and what things he wants to do with them. He said, “I like to hang out with Luke, Landon, Dom, Mason, Fin and other friends too. We just hang out, nothing specific.” The last thing we talked about was what he was most excited for this summer. Charlie said, “No school!” I hope Charlie has a fun, school-free summer. If you need to find Charlie this summer check the baseball field first.
I hope hearing all these different plans gives you some ideas for YOUR summer. Whether you will be swimming in the warm waves of Hawaii or hanging out at home with your friends, I know you’ll have a great summer. Summer is the perfect time to take risks and experience new opportunities, so get out there and have fun. See you next year!
